Goodness is born from sharing.
In 1150 in Milan, a group of knights returning from the Crusades founded the charitable organization of the Quattro Marie. The Brotherhood’s bakery offered flour and freshly baked bread to those in need, in exchange for special copper coins.

It is 1896. During the height of the Belle Époque, the bakery becomes the renowned Tre Marie Pastry Shop, in step with the tastes of a Milan buzzing with cultural activity. Intellectuals and artists sit at its tables, gathering to share new ideas and the soft delights of the pastry shop’s creations.

At the beginning of the 1900s, Tre Marie, along with other Milanese pastry shops, established an artisanal cooperative that perfected the recipe for traditional desserts, supplying them to pastry shops across Italy that were unable to produce them in their own kitchens. In the 1960s, production was scaled up to a larger level.
